Get Online

To start your new Internet experience, just insert the SBC Yahoo! Dial CD into your CD-ROM drive and follow the on-screen instructions.

Your software includes many different components, and during installation, you'll be able to customize your experience by choosing which ones you install*. In addition to the SBC Yahoo! Dial Connection Manager your options include the SBC Yahoo! Instant Messenger, Browser, Parental Controls and much more. If you decide not to install a component during installation you can always do so at a later date by simply re-inserting the SBC Yahoo! Dial CD and following the on-screen instructions.

Connection Manager

Connection Manager is your point of entry to SBC Yahoo! Dial. It's easy to set up, convenient to use and helps you get and stay online by providing:
  • Options for connecting
Set up different numbers for different locations so you can dial in to the Internet from virtually anywhere. For example, if you live in Houston but travel often to Austin, you can create a Houston connection with as many as five local access numbers for that city and a separate Austin connection with up to five local access numbers for that city. To setup a new connection, select "Add New Connection" from the "Connection" menu. For detailed instructions on how to set up additional connections, visit the Help section of the Connection Manager.
  • The best connection for you
When you click "Connect" to get online, Connection Manager automatically goes through the access numbers on your list and attempts to find the best one to use to connect your computer. If you have trouble connecting with the first number, Connection Manager will keep trying until you are online**.
  • Updated access numbers
Connection Manager automatically checks for phone list updates and gives you the opportunity to add new numbers to the connections you have created.
