When instructed by the CD, click the shutdown button in the installation program. Then turn off all your computer's peripheral devices (such as extra hard drives, printers, modems, etc.). Leave the SBC Yahoo! DSL Installer CD in the CD-ROM drive during the entire installation.
Now unplug the computer from the electrical outlet and open your computer's case. You might need to review your computer owner's manual for specific instructions on how to do this.
With the computer case open, find any available PCI slot in your computer's chassis. PCI slots are usually white. You may need to turn the computer on its side to get easy access to the PCI slot.
Remove the PCI slot cover from the slot you have selected. Save the screw from the cover, because you'll need it to fasten the Ethernet Adapter into place.
Carefully insert the Ethernet Adapter into the empty PCI slot. Press down firmly on the adapter to make sure it's completely seated.
Verify that the gold connector along the base of the modem card is completely inserted into the PCI slot and that the end bracket is flush against the computer chassis.
Use the screw you set aside earlier to fasten the card into the computer chassis.
Replace the cover on your computer, plug the computer back in and turn it on. SBC Yahoo! DSL Installer will pick up where it left off and guide you through the rest of the installation.
If you need to return your SBC Yahoo! DSL Internet equipment: follow the instructions on the return label located inside the customer self-install box. Or, if you purchase your kit through a retail store, please refer to the return policy of that store.
